HEROES
WELCOME
The men’s fashion A-list turns out to toast the release of Jim Moore’s new book
At Thursday night’s event at the Ralph Lauren mansion on Madison Avenue, the atmosphere felt more like a fashion show after-party than your typical publishing launch. Which made perfect sense considering the occasion—the release of Hunks & Heroes, the new book from longtime GQ creative director Jim Moore, who’s had an unparalleled impact on the landscape of American men’s fashion over the past four decades.
Jon Hamm (above, flanked by Moore and David Lauren) stopped by to celebrate the author, as did Cavaliers forward (and longtime RL fan) Kevin Love, as well as a host of designers, editors, and GQ editors past and present (including current editor in chief Will Welch), as well as Jerry Lauren, RL CEO Patrice Louvet, and others. Set against the backdrop of the “world’s greatest men’s store” (Jim’s words—and who are we to disagree), the scene was the perfect reflection of the man himself: energetic, eclectic, and always engaging. Learn more about the book and Jim’s remarkable career in our Q&A , but first, scroll through a few photos from the event. And speaking of Ralph Lauren’s iconic men’s store on Madison Avenue, be sure to check out Night at the Mansion, the short film created by Jim and director Douglas Keeve (Unzipped, Seamless) for the occasion.
